Places of Interest
Gateway of India - The renowned Gateway of India the city's most enduring
symbol, was built in 1927 to commemorate the visit of George V and Queen Mary
in 1911 for the Delhi durbar.
Nehru Centre - located at Worli is extremely popular amongst those with a
sense of scientific curiosity. It's educational programs for children have
been highly appreciated.
The Prince of Wales Museum - is the city's finest museum. Its highlights are
the collections of south Indian bronzes, sculptures and miniatures. There is
also a collection of miscellaneous exhibits of traditional arts and crafts.
In the sea off South Bombay, the sculptures at the Elephanta Caves are
dedicated to Lord Shiva. The various panels depict his various forms. The high
point is the Trimurti, Brahma the creator, Vishnu the Preserver and Shiva the
Destroyer.

Other places of interest are the Victoria Terminus, Mani Bhawan, Hanging
Gardens, Kamla Nehru Park, Marine Drive, 'The Queen's Necklace', Kanheri
Caves, the Japanese Temple at Worli, the Haji Ali Tomb/Mosque in the sea, the
Mount Mary Church atop a hill at Bandra.
